Who do you believe? 3/8/09

       There are only two voices that speak into us. God want to get our attention and impart His truth. Satan also wants to be believed as he is going about his mission of killing, stealing, destroying and deceiving.

   We need to learn to recognize and distinguish one from another. We have a choice to believe one and disbelieve another.

     …Jehoshaphat stood and said, ‘Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you will be established; believe his prophets.’ 2Chronicles 20:20

     Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of rage; a fire was kindled against Jacob, his anger mounted against Israel, because they had no faith in God, and did not trust his saving power. Psalm 78:21,22

     (Jesus) ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1

Open Your Mouth & Fight!

Intro:  This is a simple truth, but most Christians are not walking in the fullness of it.

Scripture:  Revelation 12:13-17

1.  Water like a river.  This represents Satan’s attacks against the people of God, those who are called by his name.

2.  Overtake & sweep away.  This is what Satan wants to do whether you are a Christian or not.  He does not want just a little bit of access to your life but he wants to overtake you and sweep you away.  That is why we should not even give him an inch.  We should never say:  “Oh, it’s not that bad” when it comes to any kind of sin.  Remember that a little bit of leaven works through the whole batch of dough.  It is better and easier to keep the devil out than it is to get him out once he gets a foot in the door.  One way to keep him out is by living a life of constant praise.  King David says in Psalm 34:1:  “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth”.  Praise is an offensive weapon.  We truly do damage to the kingdom of darkness when we praise the Lord at all times.
